DUNCAN, Okla. -- Murder charges have been filed against a Duncan man being sought by authorities in the slashing death of a man last week.
Stephens County Assistant District Attorney Dennis Gay says alternate counts of first- and second-degree murder have been filed against 33-year-old Dale Lee Jones. The charges would allow a jury to decide which charge better fits the case.
Police Lt. Jimmy Williams says Jones is accused of cutting the throat of 26-year-old Jonathan Ball of Duncan following an altercation involving several men. Ball's body was found in a roadway in front of a home around 1 a.m. Friday.
Police say they believe Jones remained in the Duncan area, but they have not yet been able to locate him.
