Four tornadoes confirmed Wednesday

National Weather Service surveyors assessed the damage from Wednesday's storms on Thursday, and confirmed four tornado touchdowns in central and south-central Oklahoma.

National Weather Service surveyors assessed the damage from Wednesday's storms on Thursday, and confirmed four tornado touchdowns in central and south-central Oklahoma.

Two EF0 and two EF1 tornadoes were confirmed.  On the Enhanced Fujita Scale, an EF0 tornado has winds ranging from 65 to 85 mph.  An EF1 tornado has winds ranging from 86 to 110 mph.  For more information on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, click here.

One EF0 occurred at 5:22 p.m. five miles north-northwest of The Village, and continued with a 2.8-mile long path that was 20 miles wide.  This tornado developed near NW 164 Street and May Avenue, then tracked southeast and ended near the intersection of Memorial Road and Western Avenue.

Another EF0 occurred around 5:21 p.m. near Goldsby, and continued with a 4.5-mile long path that was 25 yards wide.  This tornado ended 1.5 miles north of Noble.

An EF1 tornado formed at 4:57 p.m. five miles east-southeast of Paoli in Garvin County.  The exact path of this tornado is still under investigation, but it did cause extensive damage to a mobile home as it moved from near Paoli toward three miles west of Byers.

Another EF1 tornado formed at 4:57 p.m. one mile east of Yukon in Canadian County, and continued on the ground for 7.5 miles.  This tornado was up to 120 yards wide at times, and developed just southwest of Main Street and Mustang Road on the east side of Yukon.  The tornado tracked east-northeast, ending near NW 60th and Meridian in northwest Oklahoma City.
