McCain's Web site broken down

            I don't know who would search for recipes on the websites of Presidential Candidates, but apparently John McCain had a few family dishes listed on his. They are not there anymore.

You can still read McCain's biography, find out more information about his policies and where he stands on the issues, but for the ingredients needed for Farfalle Pasta with Turkey Sausage, look to the Food Network website.  Apparently, that's where the recipes originated in the first place. Oops.

            Fortunately, this incident is mild compared to the controversies that sometimes befall Presidential candidates. The similarity in McCain's family recipes and the Food Network was noticed by a New York attorney (wonder if he or she cooks) and was reported in the Huffington Post.  McCain's campaign responded faster than some estimated cook times saying, "Apparently a web intern added Rachel Ray to our policy team without her knowing it."

            The recipes on McCain's website had been credited to his wife, Cindy.  I checked her biography on the same website and frankly, I don't see how she would have any time to cook, let alone provide family recipes.  According to the website, Cindy McCain has founded outreach organizations, volunteers her time to non-profits, is on the Board of Directors for an organization that fights global poverty and also happens to be the chairman of her family business. Next time you drink a beer you might think of it. Hensley and Company is one the largest Anheuser-Busch distributors in the nation.  Now, if they had only posted a recipe for a good microbrew.
