BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The president of the University of Indiana says the school's athletic director has seven days to investigate the NCAA's accusations of recruiting violations by coach Kelvin Sampson.

The NCAA says in a report that Sampson and his staff violated telephone recruiting restrictions placed on him because of prior violations at Oklahoma then lied about it to the university and NCAA investigators.

IU President Michael McRobbie says he's deeply disappointed and understands the desire to bring a quick resolution to the issue.

He says athletic director Rick Greenspan will lead a committee of attorneys and other athletic officials to examine the allegations.
