A 31-year-old Dallas, Texas man died after his airplane crashes just north of the Tulsa International Airport late Wednesday evening.

The twin engine plane went down moments after takeoff from the airport. Because of the remote location, Tulsa Police and other emergency crews took more than an hour to find the crash site. When crews did finally find the wreckage, they discovered that the pilot, Darrin Ogletree had been killed in the crash.

Tulsa Police say the twin-engine plane circled the area twice before authorities say the pilot lost contact with the tower at Tulsa International Airport.

Tulsa Police say the wintery conditions made it difficult to track down the wreckage. Searchers found the plane's tail section about 11:30 p.m. and located the fuselage in a debris field about 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
