Oisin Fagan, Oklahoma Lightweight boxing champion, had a rough and tough New Year's weekend. Fagan spent the weekend fighting for the United States Boxing Association Lightweight Title and lost.
He fought the Verquan Kimbrough from Aliquippa, Penn. and lost in a 12-round split decision against the Oklahoma City teacher. The two fought at the Mountaineer Casino Racetrack and Resort in Chester in West Virginia, Kimbrough's home state, in front of a rather partisan crowd.
Despite the loss, Fagan does not lose his Oklahoma Lightweight title, nor his Irish Light Welterweight title.
