Meet the band director

Brian Britt knows what to expect from the Sooners at the Fiesta Bowl.

Wednesday's game will mark the Pride of Oklahoma director's 11th bowl appearance with the marching band. Britt attended four bowl games as a student and seven as the group's director.

The band's role is to support the football team and represent the university, Britt said.

"We'll do everything we can to support them and bring home a Sooner victory," he said.
Britt oversees the pride from recruiting to charting and selecting the shows.

The Durant, Okla.-native attended the University of Oklahoma for his bachelor's and master's degree in music.

Britt returned to his alma mater in 2001 to director the more than 300 members of the band.

"The students are really the best part of this job," he said.
