Gas Leak Forces Evacuation Of Entire Downtown OKC Block

Construction crews cut a high-pressure gas line in downtown Oklahoma City this morning.

Police evacuated everyone in the area between Broadway to Oklahoma Ave., and NW 5th to Robert S. Kerr (see map). Police also blocked off traffic in the area.

Police say 80 children were evacuated from the YMCA daycare. Roughly 500 people from six  buildings were evacuated.

Only one construction worker was evaluated by EMSA but did not need to be taken to the hospital.
