One person was killed in a collision involving a semi-truck and utility truck on Interstate 35 near Goldsby, Oklahoma, Thursday morning.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), at about 5 a.m., crews responded to the crash involving a semi-truck and a utility truck in the northbound lanes of I-35 just south of Goldsby. Both were going northbound on I-35 at the time. The semi-truck reportedly overturned and then caught on fire. The fire jumped onto an adjacent stretch of grass, requiring a second fire tanker.
The semi-truck driver, who has not been identified, has died.
At one point, crews had to shut down both northbound lanes of I-35. One northbound lane has been reopened.
Traffic is being detoured onto Ladd Rd. to SH-74 and back on to I-35. Troopers said the lane is expected to be closed well into rush hour. Drivers could use US-77 (runs parallel to I-35) as detour.
