'They Were My Life:' Remembering The Orlando Shooting Victims

We now know the names of all the victims killed in the Orlando massacre. Most of the 49 people died inside Pulse nightclub, and their ages ranged from 18 to 50. Another 53 people at the club were wounded, and nearly 30 of them are recovering at the Orlando Regional Medical Center.

According to the hospital, the patients appear to be improving, reports CBS News correspondent Jamie Yuccas. The positive news comes as we are learning more about those who were killed.

The city of Orlando finished posting the names of the deceased Monday night, nearly two days after the deadly shooting spree.

Akyra Murray, 18, was the youngest to die. The oldest was 50-year-old Franky Jimmy Dejesus Velazquez.

Amanda Alvear, 25, aspired to be a nurse. Her friend, Mercedez Flores, 26, wanted to be a party planner.

Josean Garcia was with the two women at Pulse on Saturday night.

"They were my life literally. Everyone knows that. They were my life," Garcia said.

Luis Vielma, 22, worked at the Harry Potter ride at Universal Studios. Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling tweeted about Vielma, writing, "I can't stop crying."

Juan Guerrero, 22, and Drew Leinonen, 32, had been dating for nearly two years. In an interview, family members said they planned to marry. Instead, the men will share a funeral service.

Shane Tomlinson, 33, sang in the band, Frequency.

"You just don't think that you're not gonna see the person again the next day. You've gotta thank God every day for your life," Tomlinson's bandmate Ginelle Morales said.

Morales learned her friend died after an agonizing day-long wait.

"It was excruciating. So many friends and family asking, 'Hey, are you okay? Have you heard any news?'" Morales said.

Paula Blanco took her boyfriend Cory Connell, 21, to Pulse to teach him Latin dancing. Blanco survived. Connell did not.

"I knew in my heart of hearts if something happened to him it was because he was protecting his girlfriend. I knew, I believe in my heart of hearts that's what it was," Connell's older brother, Ryan, said.

On Tuesday, there will be a press conference at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Eight surgeons and two of the shooting victims are expected to speak.

At the same time, families are planning to remember their loved ones. We know of at least one local funeral home currently planning six services.
