Two suspects, a male and a female, are in custody after leading police on a high-speed chase around the Oklahoma City metro, Thursday evening.

The chase began around 5 p.m. on the southwest side of the metro and wound its way to the north side.

Police say one of the suspects was wanted for questioning in connection with a stabbing at a SW OKC motel on Wednesday night. Police did not say which suspect was wanted for questioning.

The chase at times exceeded speeds of 100 miles per hour. At one point in the chase, while the suspects were in the Edmond area, it appeared the driver threw some substance out of the vehicle.

The pursuit lasted just over 20 minutes, and ended when the suspects pulled over and surrendered on southbound I-235, in between 50th St. and 36th St. along the Broadway Extension.

Traffic on the south side of I-235 was backed up for miles as several police cruisers descended on the suspects' vehicle. Traffic in the area is expected to remain congested while authorities work the scene.

The identities of the chase suspects are not known at this time.
