Police are searching for a man caught on camera swiping several packs of smokes from from a convenience store on the southwest side of the metro, early Wednesday morning.
Police responded to a burglary alarm at the Family Dollar store located in the 2000 block of S. Walker Ave. just after 6 a.m. on Wednesday. When officers arrived they noticed the front entry glass door smashed in and numerous packages of cigarettes scattered on the ground.
A check of the surveillance footage revealed the culprit, a white male wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans. The crook breaks into a cigarette display and pockets multiple packages of Marlboro cigarettes before taking off on foot. It appears the smokes were the only thing the burglar was looking to steal.
If you recognize the suspect you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300, or Text-A-Tip to (405) 415-5666. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
