Deer Creek Schools On Lockdown As Police Search For Possible Burglary Suspect

Three schools in Deer Creek are on a soft lockdown as Oklahoma County sheriff’s deputies search for a burglary suspect in the area.

Three schools in Deer Creek are on a soft lockdown as Oklahoma County sheriff’s deputies search for a burglary suspect in the area.

Authorities tell News 9 Deer Creek High School, Deer Creek Intermediate and Rose Union Elementary were both put on the soft lockdown while deputies conduct their search.

Parents were sent the following message from the school concerning the incident:

"We wanted to let you know that we have several schools on Lock Down as we were informed by the Oklahoma County Sherriff’s  (sic)Department they are in a foot pursuit of male suspect who is running from the police.

We do not feel our students are in danger at this time but we are taking full precautions.

We are not allowing anyone to enter or exit the following sites:

Deer Creek High School
Deer Creek Intermediate
Rose Union Elementary

We will let you know when we have been notified that the situation has been resolved."
