Oklahoma City police arrested a man in connection to a woman's death following a car and foot pursuit Wednesday night.
According to police, at about 7 p.m., two patrol officers riding as partners located a vehicle with a stolen license plate near S.W. 43rd and Kincaid. The officers attempted to make a traffic stop. However, the driver took off. That's when the brief chase began.
Eventually, police said the driver, later identified as 22-year-old Quinton Kaniatobe, abandoned his car near S.W. Grand and Agnew and ran on foot. As he ran from the vehicle, officers chased after Kaniatobe and noticed that he had a gun in his hand.
A perimeter was set up and with the assistance from a K9 officer, Kaniatobe was located and taken into custody.
The vehicle that Kaniatobe was driving was believed to have possibly been involved in the death of 25-year-old Elizabeth Lopez. Lopez was found dead in the roadway in the 800 block of S.E. 20th Street Tuesday morning.
