His body was lying on the side of the road near S.W. 59th and Agnew.

Investigators were called to the scene and began pursuing leads. Surveillance cameras from nearby businesses captured images of two men chasing the victim just before his death.

Julio Hernandez and his alleged accomplice, Charlie Hicks were later named as suspects in the homicide case.

According to court records, a wallet with $800 cash came up missing from their home and the two decided to seek revenge against Stephenson.

An informant told investigators the pair planned to just beat him up and get the money back.

Instead, the men are accused of shooting him to death.

According to Oklahoma City police, surveillance cameras show the suspects chasing Stephenson behind some businesses. He was eventually found shot to death in the same area.

Police said at the time of their arrest, Hernandez admitted he shot Stephenson, and then rolled him over and removed the cash from his pocket.

Hicks denied having any knowledge of the murder.

Both are being held at the Oklahoma County Jail without bond. Formal arraignment is expected in the next few days.
