A 6-year-old boy is dead after a head-on collision caused by a wrong-way driver.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) says it was around 8:25 p.m. that 44-year old Kelly Corn of Edmond drove his Chevrolet truck onto the westbound lanes of the Kilpatrick but was going in the eastbound direction.

Corn slammed head on into a Lexus driven by 34-year old Shavon McNack-Watley. Inside the car were her 9-year old and 6-year old sons.

OHP is reporting the 6-year old was pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries. Shavon and the 9-year old boy were taken to OU Medical Center and are listed in critical condition.

Corn was also taken to OU Medical and is in fair condition.

OHP says Corn was driving under the influence of medication when he drove the wrong way.

News 9 also learned he crashed into someone in the parking lot of the PF Changs restaurant on Penn and Memorial before leaving the scene of the accident and taking off for the Kilpatrick Turnpike. No word on what charges he could face.

The Kilpatrick was closed for several hours as investigators gathered information. It is now back open to traffic.
