One person was killed and two others were injured in a collision involving two semi-trucks on Interstate 35 near Mulhall, Oklahoma, Friday morning.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, due to the crash, I-35 northbound at mile marker 170 (Mulhall Road) is being routed to the off-ramp then back onto the on-ramp. I-35 southbound is open.
Traffic is backed up for about half a mile in the area. One of the semi-trucks caught fire and exploded following the collision. Crews were able to put out that fire.
According to authorities, the driver of the truck that exploded was killed. The driver of the other semi-truck involved was taken by an ambulance to a Stillwater hospital.
A passer-by who stopped to assist was hit by debris and medi-flighted to Oklahoma City.
At about 11:30 a.m., ODOT sent out a news release and said the closure is expected to last about four hours.
Authorities have not identified anyone involved in the collision.
