Winter sure has shown itself the past few weekends. Well, our next winter event is arriving right in the smack dab middle of this week. And unfortunately, this one will likely impact a lot more folks as it's during the work week. Read on.

Tuesday will stick out like a sore thumb with highs in the 50's and 60's and a breezy southwest wind. The big cold front arrives quickly late Tuesday evening with a crazy north wind.

Precipitation arrives just after midnight across the state as primarily drizzle/light rain. That won't last long as it will quickly start freezing as temps plummet below freezing Wednesday morning. This will impact your morning commute and may (I repeat MAY) impact school closings as well. We don't know for sure about that yet, but please stay tuned as we get more information.

Throughout the morning Wednesday, the freezing rain will quickly turn to sleet before changing to all snow late Wednesday morning into Wednesday afternoon.

Basically, Wednesday will be a right mess. Roads will be slick again and we're looking at essentially all types of winter precipitation in one day.

The silver lining? The rest of the week into this weekend looks great! We dry out and warm up and finally get to enjoy a sunny weekend! How 'bout THAT?
