A couple escaped their southwest Oklahoma City home during an early morning fire.

Oklahoma City fire crews rushed to the home on the 8400 block of Linn Ave. around 3:55 a.m. Monday. A car parked in a carport caught fire and spread to the home. Damage is estimated at $50,000.

The couple spoke with News 9's Rachel Calderon as they stayed warm inside an OKC Fire Department's truck. They were visibly shaken and wore oxygen masks as treatment for smoke inhalation. Neither of them were treated for burns.

Fire crews prevented the fire from spreading to other homes. Investigators are still trying to figure out why the car caught fire.
