Police in two cities are looking for a man they say robbed a total of six businesses over the past month. His crime spree started in Oklahoma City and moved south.
The hooded thief's first stop last Thursday was at the R&M Food Mart. Just after 8 p.m. Del City police say the man walked into the convenience store and asked for two packs of cigarettes.
“After you know he got the two packs of cigarettes on the counter he said, ‘Hey, I have a gun. You better give me money,'” said store owner Francis Nguyen.
The woman behind the counter was Nguyen's sister. She told police the suspect begged her not to call police then took off.
“Everything you know happened very quick, you know. He took money and wanted to get out,” he said.
The man's next hit was again caught on camera. This time investigators say he waited inside this Dollar General in Del City. He then walked up to the clerk and said, "Give me your money".
Police say the woman thought it was a joke and replied, "I don't have any money.” But that's when police say he pulled out a gun and said, "You will in a minute."
In the surveillance video, you see the woman walking over to the cash register and emptying out the drawer. Before leaving, the clerk told police the man asked her to stay calm.
“Very polite. Wears the same clothing pretty much in each robbery. Each time he doesn't seem to be loud or abusive, but does show a firearm and does rob,” said Maj. Jody Suit, Del City Police.
Del City Police say this man is also believed to be the same person responsible for holding up four other stores in the Oklahoma City days before the Del City robberies.
Police in both cities are hoping someone will recognize the man in the sketch and video. He is described as a white male, approximately 40 years old, 5'8” tall, weighs approximately 160 pounds, with an olive complexion, light stubble, brown eyes, dark hair, grey clothing, and a black leather jacket.
