A man with a gunshot wound to the stomach reportedly walked into the lobby of the Hampton Inn near I-35 and Main Street, at around 6:10 a.m. Police said the man was staying in a room at the hotel with several other people. Officers detained one woman who was with the victim when he was found. But several others fled the scene before officers arrived.

According to police, officers received information at about 9:50 a.m., indicating that one or more of the people who fled the scene of the shooting may be in the area of the South Canadian River, south of Lindsey Street.

At about 3 p.m., Norman police detectives said they have determined that at least six people, including the victim, are associated with the shooting earlier on Wednesday. Investigators have located and identified four people, but two others remain at large.
