One man is in critical condition after a shootout at a Northwest Oklahoma City apartment complex.
Police are investigating two scenes after the shooting occurred in one, then a gunshot victim drove to another where police caught up to him.
“I'm scared for my son. I'm scared for the other gentlemen who got shot," said Marset Mitchner.
Mitchner couldn't hold back tears after hearing her 22-year-old son, Delshawn, was involved in the shooting. She says her son has been in trouble before, but this time, he and a friend were trying to sell a gold chain when a man confronted them.
"A guy tried to rob him, and somebody got shot. I'm glad my son didn't get shot, but I feel bad for the person who did get shot. It's too much violence," she said.
Oklahoma City Police blocked off the area where the shootout occurred around 5:30 p.m. Sunday near NW 22nd and Cross Ave. One man said he heard 10 gunshots.
Police said two cars fled from the scene, but five minutes later, they got called to another scene at the Brownstone Apartments on NW 28th St. That is where officers found a man wounded with blood on the driver's seat.
“It's not a drive-by, according to the witnesses. It was a shooting in the parking lot then they jumped in their cars to flee,” said Oklahoma City Police Lt. Isaac Goodman. "One of the vehicles that was described leaving the scene is here in the parking lot with some bullet holes in it."
Police don't know if the gunshot victim lived at the apartments, but the Gang Unit was called, who questioned several witnesses on both scenes.
The gunshot victim was taken to OU Medical center in critical condition. Police did question several people, but so far, they haven't arrested anyone.
