The OSBI is appealing for new leads six years after a woman's body turned up in a shallow grave near Lake Thunderbird.
A group of people looking for a good fishing spot found the body on August 31, 2008. The woman had been dead at least three months.
OSBI Forensic Artist Harvey Pratt reconstructed the woman's skull and came up with a rendering of what the woman probably looked like.
OSBI Spokesperson Jessica Brown says how the woman was killed is still unknown, for sure.
Brown says the woman was between the age of 30 and 45 and had a large sunburst tattoo on her back.
She says the lead agent on this case recently retired, and new sets of eyes are looking at it.
“This was somebody's mother,” said Brown. “We have to try.”
Brown says the medical examiner determined the victim had mothered at least one child.
