The motion for bond reduction was filed in the court clerk's office, but is yet to be presented to the judge.

In it Holtzclaw's attorney Scott Adams is asking for a bail in the amount of $139,000 to be set. He states his client is not a flight risk nor is he a danger to the community.

It was less than a week ago that both the Oklahoma City Police Department and the Oklahoma County DA announced the arrest of Oklahoma City police officer Daniel Holtzclaw, who stands accused of various sex crimes; crimes he's accused of doing while on duty.

"It's very disturbing," said Oklahoma City Police Chief Bill Citty during that news conference.

Last Thursday, Holtzclaw was arrested outside of the Gold's Gym on Memorial Rd. in northwest Oklahoma City and placed into the Oklahoma County jail on a $5-million bond.

But his attorney claims that's too excessive and that Holtzclaw would be willing to abide by any restrictions the court may impose as a condition of reasonable bail.

The motion claims Holtzclaw has family in law enforcement, has strong ties to the community and is a member of a big metro church. He cites those as just some of the reasons why the $5-million bond is unwarranted in this case.

It states "the bond is so high it can only be a means to punish him rather than its correct purpose, which is to secure his appearance at court and ensure the safety of the community."

News 9 has learned Oklahoma County DA David Prater had asked for Holtzclaw to be held without bond,

but that the judge in this case, Judge Cindy Truong, set the $5-million bond instead.

Judge Truong defended her actions saying she felt "it was appropriate in light of the circumstances".

"He is a threat to the community,” said Truong. "He not only knew his victims private information, like their names and addresses, but he even did research on them and tracked the women down. He did it all while in uniform representing himself as an officer".

Adams says he is waiting for the formal charges to be filed before he presents the judge with his motion. Those charges are expected to be filed by Friday.
