Alva Man Wins News 9's 'Best Summer Ever' Grand Prize

A News 9 viewer from Alva, Oklahoma, drove 189 miles to Oklahoma City for our ‘Best Summer Ever’ giveaway, and he did not go home empty-handed.

James Brumley is this year’s “Best Summer Ever” grand prize winner. He took home a 2014 Ford Mustang, courtesy of the Oklahoma Ford Dealers.

The 2014 Best Summer Ever contest was once again a big success, thanks to the Oklahoma Ford Dealers and viewers across Oklahoma. The nine weeks of giveaways yielded more than 292,000 entries this year.

From those entries, eight finalists were chosen to take part in the Grand Prize Giveaway where one lucky winner would take home a new Ford Mustang.

During the grand prize giveaway, all eight finalists were given a box to unwrap with one box containing the winning Ford Mustang prize. News 9 This Morning anchors Bobbie Miller, Stan Miller and Tammy Payne counted the finalists down and everyone rushed to open their box and see what was inside.

After only seconds, a cheer of excitement was exclaimed as James Brumley from Alva realized he had won the Mustang!

Brumley entered all summer last year as well as this year, and was chosen from the Picture Me in A Ford Photo Contest as one of this year’s finalists. He said he is planning to take a road trip to Florida with his new car!

Every finalist walked away a winner, because even those that didn't win the car took home a 32 inch LCD television plus a $1,000 credit courtesy of the Oklahoma Ford Dealers to redeem at any Oklahoma dealership.
