The wildfire threat will continue to dominate our weather the next nine days. With no great chance of rain, continental air remaining in place and mild temperatures continuing, this will be nearly a daily threat through the end of the month.
Think of the winds as a gas peddle. When the winds crank up, the peddle goes to the floor and wildfire conditions will become extreme! With the winds down, the threat will be lower.
The latest Drought Monitor is out Thursday morning and it shows a much drier pattern building east into central Oklahoma. This pattern will keep the fire danger a top story until we can see some substantial precipitation!
