Canadian County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a 64-year-old church counselor from Yukon after they discovered thousands of pornographic photos and videos of children on a computer at his home.
The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit began investigating Dennis Mullins after deputies say he shared child porn downloads online. Deputies obtained a search warrant and went to Mullins' home.
When they spoke to Mullins, he denied sharing any images online, but admitted he'd been downloading child porn "for a very long time."
Mullins also agreed to submit to a polygraph examination. During the exam, a United States Secret Service agent asked Mullins if he had ever molested any children. Deputies say that's when Mullins ended the polygraph and asked for an attorney.
"Mullins attempted to downplay the situation and advised us that he was a church counselor, and then told my deputies ‘just turn off the computer, and go away,' as if we were supposed to act like it had never happened," said Canadian County Sheriff's Deputy Randall Edwards.
Deputies also learned DHS had previously investigated Mullins after family members accused him of inappropriate contact. Deputies are now going through the thousands of photos and videos found on Mullins' computer to determine if they can identify any local victims.
Mullins was booked on charges of aggravated possession of child porn, distribution and manufacturing of child pornography. His bond is set at $200,000.
