Authorities have captured an inmate who escaped in a stolen fire truck.
According to police, Adam Holder, 23, was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon. He is being held at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office in Kansas.
Holder escaped just after midnight Wednesday from the John H. Lilley Correctional Facility in Boley. Holder then allegedly broke into the Boley Fire Department and stole a 2009 red Ford brush truck.
The fire truck and Holder were spotted on one of Oklahoma's turnpikes Wednesday morning heading towards the Missouri border. Authorities say Holder went through a toll gate and told the gate attendant he was delivering the fire truck to a fire department in Missouri. Turnpike officials were suspicious and called police.
Holder was serving 15 years on multiple convictions including possession of a controlled substance (meth), concealing stolen property, possession of a stolen vehicle, auto theft and second degree burglary.
