Spencer Man Pleads Guilty To Killing Former Girlfriend

A judge sentenced a Spencer man to life in prison Friday after the defendant pleaded guilty to murdering the mother of his two children.

David Dean Nichols, 40, stabbed Jenna Flippo to death on January 5. The 35-year-old woman was found dead in her front yard in the 2800 block of S.W. 63rd Street around 2:30 a.m.

Police later tracked Nichols to a 7-Eleven store in Del City and arrested him.

Nichols was charged with first-degree murder. He avoided the possibility of the death penalty by pleading guilty. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
