A deadly shooting in Southwest Oklahoma City leaves one man dead and a suspect on the run.
Oklahoma City Police say they got the call around 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday. When officers arrived at the Will Rogers Court Complex in the 1700 block of Pettee near SW 15th & Pennsylvania, they found 22-year-old Marquise Callender shot to death.
The suspect got away before police arrived to the scene. Investigators do not have a good description to release to the public at this point in the investigation, but say they are talking with witnesses.
Two residents of Will Rogers Court Complex say violence is common in the area.
"It scared the mess out of me," Milisha Anderson said. "The way they came out of there looked like something went bad, like a drug deal."
Devon, another resident, said in the six months she has lived at the complex she has noticed four crime scenes.
"You're watching 48 hours right here in your front yard and you pray they don't run into your house," Devon said.
Residents say with the suspect still on the run, they are keeping their doors locked.
Oklahoma City Police are asking anyone with information to call (405) 297-1200
