Police apprehended the suspect, who stole a Choctaw Police Vehicle, at a Midwest City motel, Friday night.
It all began when after a man, now identified as Joshua Colley, was arrested for a burglary in SW OKC. Handcuffed and placed in the backseat of the squad car, Colley managed to crawl into the front seat and drive off.
After a brief chase, Colley managed to elude officers around Interstate 40 and Sooner Rd. At the time, police said the vehicle contained a shotgun and warned the public that Colley was considered armed and dangerous.
Later Friday night, police in Midwest City received a call about domestic violence at the Super 8 Motel at the Tinker diagonal in MWC. When officers arrived they located Colley, who was still handcuffed from the previous arrest.
Colley apparently told police that he "stashed" the vehicle, but officers found the white Chevy Impala, parked about a half a mile south from the motel in some brush.
No one was injured during the theft. The photo of Colley was taken just moments before he managed to slip into the driver's seat of the cruiser and take off.
