A father has died after being stabbed during a home invasion in southwest Oklahoma City early Friday morning.
According to police, at about 3:30 a.m., officers received the report of a burglary at a home, located in the 9000 block of Winston Way, near southwest 89th and Western.
As officers arrived, one suspect, later identified as 34-year-old Eddie Thompson, ran out of the home and took off on foot. He was arrested just one block away.
Thompson will be booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on the charge of first-degree murder.
Police say they are still looking for another suspect.
A father inside the home, 47-year-old Arthur Strozewski, was stabbed numerous times. He was rushed to the OU Medical Center, where he later died.
News 9 spoke with the children's mother. She said the suspects broke into the home, stabbed the man, and tied up their 14-year-old son. Her 16-year-old daughter was able to fight off the attackers. Police say she then grabbed her phone, ran to a closet, and called police.
"I'm sure she's not okay. She had to find her bother tied up and her dad attacked, and fight people to get them out of her home," the mother said.
