OKC Police Make Two Arrests In High-Speed Chase, Drive-By Shooting

After a nearly 40-minute chase, police have arrested a suspect who sped through neighborhoods and put school children at risk in northwest Oklahoma City.

Police arrested the driver, 37-year-old Jason Annesley on complaints of eluding police and for an alleged drive-by shooting. Police also arrested Annesley's passenger, 20-year-old Chad Moudy, who is accused in the drive-by shooting. Police said there were no injuries reported in the shooting.

Officers from Oklahoma City and Bethany began chasing the white Cadillac around 3 p.m. Patrol cars then pulled off the pursuit and allowed Oklahoma City police helicopter Air One to continue following the suspect.

The chase wound for several miles in the area of N.W. 39th Street and Meridian. The suspect drove the wrong way down several streets and sped through intersections, nearly hitting several cars. The suspect also drove by Kaiser Elementary School twice, speeding by children walking home from school. He also nearly hit a crossing guard.

The suspect eventually stopped his car near N.W. 39th Street and Meridian. He jumped out and ran, and tried to hide in some trees behind homes.

Officers caught the suspect just minutes later. He was arrested and taken into custody.

The pursuit started because the suspect was originally wanted for assault with a deadly weapon. He may have fired a gun at police officers.

No one was hurt during the chase.
