The son of a man who was killed six years ago by a drunk driver says recent allegations about Oklahoma's Pardon and Parole Board are disturbing.

Tim Sharp's father Joseph was killed in 2006, when former OU Cheerleader Maelene Chambers rear-ended Joseph Sharp's vehicle at a high rate of speed.

Chambers was sentenced to 10 years in prison and is supposed to serve at least eight and a half years of that sentence.  However, Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater accuses the Parole Board of secretly releasing as many as 50 convicted criminals. And Maelene Chambers was on their list.

Tim Sharp says he is grateful Prater has gotten involved.

"I'm glad there's a lot of people asking why," Sharp said.

Neither Prater nor the Executive Director of the Pardon and Parole Board accepted on-camera interview requests Wednesday.
