NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Top-ranked Oklahoma has awarded scholarships to former walk-ons Trent Ratterree and James Winchester.
Coach Bob Stoops said after practice Monday night that he "just felt all they've contributed, they'll have a major role again this year, that they were deserving."
Ratterree is a fifth-year senior who has appeared in all 27 games for Oklahoma over the past two seasons and started five times last year. He has 21 career receptions for 350 yards and he scored his only touchdown on a 7-yard TD pass against Florida State last season.
Winchester is a senior who recovered three fumbles last season on special teams duty.
Stoops says the Sooners still haven't used all of their available scholarships.
