NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The search has ended for a person of interest tied to a murder case in Norman. Fifty-year-old Robert Shantz was located early Sunday morning and has been questioned by police in the death of his stepfather, Willie Martin.
According to Norman police they arrived at a home in the 1200 block of Oakhurst Thursday night and discovered the body of 70-year-old Willie Martin. They went to the home after getting a call for a check welfare from Martin's fiance who was out of town at the time.
Less than 24 hours later police put out a photo of Martin's stepson, 50-year-old Robert Schantz. Police have not heard from Schantz and are careful not to describe him as a suspect.
Schantz was last seen driving a four-door orange Dodge Caliber with Oklahoma license plate 597-HGP. Police believe Schantz has critical information as to exactly what happened.
"He is a person of interest because not only is he Mr. Martin's stepson but he has also recently resided with Mr. Martin," said Captain Tom Easley of the Norman Police Department.
