WILSON, Kansas -- Three people, including a Oklahoma State University student, were killed in a crash on I-70 just outside of Wilson, Kansas early Wednesday morning.
Kansas Highway Patrol troopers said the collision occurred around 2 a.m.
Troopers said 22-year-old Kyle Thornburg was driving eastbound on the interstate with his passenger, 20-year-old Kylie Jobe, when an oncoming vehicle was driving west in the eastbound lanes and hit them head-on. Both vehicles caught on fire.
Thornburg, Jobe and the driver of the other vehicle, 22-year-old Joseph Pena, were killed in the crash.
Jobe was a sophomore at Oklahoma State University and a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Thornburg was a student at Kansas State University.
