VALLEY BROOK, Oklahoma -- A traffic stop ended with a man behind bars and a big mess in Valley Brook.
Police said they were trying to pull over Jason Smith, 35, for running a stop sign and driving recklessly around 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Smith reportedly sped off leading police on a chase and ramming a police car near S.E. 44th and Bryant Avenue.
Police were finally able to box Smith's car in at I-35 and S.E. 59tH but not before he rammed another police car.
"A pursuit is dangerous but anytime an individual is ramming into a police vehicle, obviously you want to stop that individual and get him into custody as soon as possible, which fortunately they were able to do without any injuries," said Mark Myers, Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department.
Smith also had a dog in his truck but the dog is OK.
