OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said it's looking for a suspected gunman and the gunman's brother in connection with a shooting at Langston University Thursday night.
The OSBI said two men confronted a group of students at about 7:15 p.m. and a fight broke out. One man pulled out a gun and fired shots.
Twenty-one-year-old Jordan Hunter was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg at an Oklahoma City hospital and released, but another student who was kicked in the head was transported in serious condition to a hospital. His name wasn't released.
Langston University police arrested Michael Vaughn in connection with the shooting. The other suspect, Chesley Griffin, ran from the area. Investigators believed he may be headed to Texas. An arrest warrant has been issued for Griffin for assault and battery with a deadly weapon. A $50,000 bond is set as well, though Griffin has not been located.
Both Vaughn and Griffin are the older brothers of Langston student, Neiman Johnson. Johnson is wanted for questioning but has disappeared.
"That student is no longer here," said Ashley Gibson, Langston University's Public Relations Director. "He packed up his things and left. When police went to talk to him and check on him, he was already gone."
University police sent out an e-mail and text to students warning them of the shooting and to be on alert.
A Langston University spokesperson said the homecoming gala and game would go on as scheduled this weekend.
