MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -- A Midwest City teacher is out on bond after being arrested on a complaint of possessing child pornography.
A spokesperson for Mid-Del Schools confirmed 38-year-old Aaron W. Mongold is a history teacher at Carl Albert High School and has worked for the district since 2000.
Oklahoma City Police executed a search warrant Wednesday on Mongold's home in Tecumseh. They are part of a multijurisdictional task force that has been investigating Mongold since August.
"They went down there yesterday afternoon. They did locate Mr. Mongold at his residence and located numerous items of evidence there at his house," said Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow.
Police are not revealing exactly what was recovered, only saying it was child pornography involving young victims.
"It was a wide range," Wardlow said. "From young children on up."
Mangold was released from the Oklahoma County Jail Thursday morning after posting $10,000 bail.
Mid-Del Schools spokesperson Stacey Boyer confirmed Mangold was not at work Thursday, and that the district is cooperating with police.
Holly Ambers is a parent of a Mid-Del School District student and said she was appalled by the allegations.
"It's really disgusting and scary that students are exposed to that," Ambers said. "It's just shocking these things that are happening in this generation."
Mongold was seen moving out of his Tecumseh house late Thursday afternoon. He and the people with him declined to comment.
