OKLAHOMA CITY – Gov. Brad Henry and First Lady Kim Henry will host their final Septemberfest at the Governor's Mansion Saturday.
The 14th Annual Septemberfest will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Oklahoma Governor's Mansion, the Oklahoma History Center and the Harn Homestead. Oklahoma City Thunder's D.J. White and Daeguan Cook will be on hand for the festivities.
"This year's Septemberfest is a little bittersweet since it is our last. However, it is always such a thrill to see Oklahomans of all ages and interests experiencing a sampling of the many things our great state has to offer," said Kim Henry, Oklahoma First Lady.
"The Governor and I are grateful to the many people from throughout our great state who have made Septemberfest a fall favorite, as well as the many volunteers who have dedicated their time and talents to making this one-of-a-kind event possible. "
Sponsored by the Friends of the Mansion, Septemberfest showcases Oklahoma culture, including arts, children's activities, interactive exhibits, live entertainment and storytelling.
Some of the attractions include bungee jump, hay bale maze and story time with the Governor and First Lady. Tours of the Governor's Mansion will be offered throughout the day.
Septemberfest also includes free admission to the Oklahoma History Center, located just across the street on NE 23rd Street, and the Harn Homestead, located at 1721 N. Lincoln Boulevard.
Admission to Septemberfest is free and parking for the event is available at the State Capitol and at the Oklahoma City-County Health Department just east of the Mansion. Visitors can enter through the west gate on Phillips Avenue. Northeast 23rd Street will be closed during the event to ensure safe crossing to and from the History Center.
Guests to Septemberfest are welcome to bring their own picnic lunches or to purchase food from the variety of vendors that will have booths on Philips Ave., just west of the Mansion.
