OKLAHOMA CITY -- Police said they have arrested two men in connection with a shooting that killed a man last month at a Circle K convenience store.
According to police, Spence Nelson, 19, and Cory Nelson, 20, were arrested Wednesday morning at a residence in the 9500 block of N.E. 42nd Street. Both men are being held in the Oklahoma County jail and face one count each of first-degree murder in the death of 25-year-old Edward Yearby on May 16. The two also face assault with a deadly weapon charges.
Police said Yearby and two others men were found at the JR's Travel Center, 1901 E Reno Ave, with gunshot wounds. Yearby died on scene and the other two men were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
According to police the shooting stemmed from a disagreement in the parking lot of the Coca-Cola Events Center in Bricktown. The suspects' vehicle then pulled into the parking lot of the Circle K at Reno and Lincoln avenues. As the victims' vehicle entered the Circle K lot, at least one person in the suspects' vehicle opened fire on the victims' vehicle, hitting three of the occupants. The victims drove to JR's Travel Center where they stopped for help.
Police arrested 19-year-old Randy Hall II as a suspect in the shooting the day after it took place.
