The project called "A Gathering Place for Tulsa" is $10 million closer to becoming a reality.

ONEOK announced the multi-million dollar donation Wednesday.

The Gathering Place is an approximately 80-acre renovation property along the Arkansas River. It's set to be one of the largest and most expensive privately-funded parks in the United States.

The George Kaiser Family Foundation project will span from 26th Street to 33rd Place, all along Riverside Drive. Plans call for the removal of two apartment complexes and the Blair Mansion to create a lake surrounded by trails. It will all connect with Riverside Drive and River Parks with a new pedestrian bridge.
