OKLAHOMA CITY -- Police have arrested a suspect in an attempted fatal home invasion at 1308 N. Blackwelder.
Officers responded to a 911 call that came in at about 2:40 Wednesday afternoon. Police said 28-year-old Carlos Marzett was fatally shot during the attempted home invasion and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A short time later, 27-year-old Derrick Johnson showed up at Deaconess Hospital with a gunshot wound, seeking treatment. Officers quickly arrived at the hospital and through investigation determined that Johnson would be arrested and charged with Marzett's murder.
Investigators are continuing to determine exactly what led up to the shooting.
Johnson has been arrested before for prior drug and auto theft convictions, and has an outstanding felony charge for DUI and possession of PCP.
