OKLAHOMA CITY -- Two of music's biggest names are making a tour stop in Oklahoma City.
They've made a stop here before and now Billy Joel and Elton John will make another appearance at the Ford Center on November 25.
"Elton John and Billy Joel are coming to Oklahoma City," Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett said.
Mayor Cornett made the big announcement in the new Courtside Club at the Ford Center that used to be the Thunder's old locker rooms and now is a posh place for the most faithful of fans to dine.
The courtside club is just one of many improvements made to give patrons a more memorable experience.
Now music fans have another reason to head downtown. Live Nation, the same event promoter that brought U2 to Norman, is now bringing the Piano Man and Elton John to Oklahoma City.
"We want to do something to celebrate the renovation of the new building and something special or the community and what better way to bring Elton John and Billy Joel back," Live Nation South President Bob Roux said.
City officials are sure the Ford Center improvements will bring many more big names to our city.
"I think the concert list will only improve just because the city continues to grow," Mayor Cornett said.
The arena improvements are funded through the one penny sales tax that voters approved in 2008. It will continue through March of 2010.
Tickets for the Face 2 Face concert go on sale this Saturday at 10 a.m.
