OKLAHOMA CITY - One person is reported dead and several others injured after a car ran into an IHOP restaurant in northwest Oklahoma City.
Emergency crews were called to the scene, 7708 Northwest Expressway, shortly before 2 a.m. Friday.
Sgt. Gary Knight says 36-year-old James Pitts of Oklahoma City was taken to OU Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. A diner identified as 25-year-old Ginnie Escobedo is injured.
Knight says 24-year-old Nina McCollom was turning into the restaurant parking lot when she hit a curb, struck a parking block and crashed into the building. The reported dead man was in a booth inside the restaurant.
Knight says police arrested McCollom on a complaint of driving under the influence manslaughter.
McCollom and Escobedo were taken to the hospital for injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
