OKLAHOMA CITY -- Carl Albert High School hosted the annual Titan Classic, showcasing the state's high school basketball. The tournament included the top four-ranked teams in Class 5A men's basketball, and three of the top five teams in 6A women's basketball.
On Thursday, men's No. 2 Ardmore HS faced off against Class 6A's No. 12 Midwest City HS. The Bombers' senior Robert Wakefield scored 26 points in the game, helping Midwest City HS beat the Tigers 65-42.
In women's basketball, Class 6A's No. 5 team Del City played No. 4 Tulsa Memorial. Del City was able to squeak a win past the Chargers, 49-45.
Later Thursday evening, men's Class 5A's No. 4 Carl Albert played No. 6 Tulsa Union. Tulsa Union narrowly evaded a loss to the tournetment's host, 54-50.
Men's 5A No. 2 Carl Albert played Douglass, beating them 61-47.
On Saturday, Midwest City won the championship game. They hit some late free throws to push past Booker T Washington 75 to 74 in overtime.
In the women's championship game, 5th ranked Del City beat 2nd ranked Union 46 to 37.
