There's something new and exciting at the Oklahoma City Zoo, and it's not a new exhibit, but it could change the way you experience the exhibits.
There's the old way of seeing the animals or there's the way Zoo public relations specialist Candice Rennels suggests, armed with the Zoo's new self-guided touring system called Zoo Ranger.
With the help of GPS technology, the device automatically activates alongside certain exhibits.
There are 27 tour stops in all, each providing additional information about the various species and providing video and pictures which can be nice when the animals are out of view.
"The warmer months are coming up and temperatures are getting warmer and a lot of the animals do kind of hang out in the shade and take breaks, Rennels said. "So, you may not be able to see them as well, but we saw it on the Zoo Ranger, which was pretty cool."
The cost to use the device is $9.95 for three and a half hours of use.
