A man is in the hospital after Tulsa Police say someone shot him outside a motel near Admiral and Sheridan.
Police say they found the victim lying in the intersection and he was rushed to the hospital because he was already losing a lot of blood.
The shooting happened in the parking lot of the Tudor House Inn. Police say a man walked up to the victim around 4 am and demanded his money. The man gave up the cash but the robber then shot him in the leg.
Officers say the victim stumbled down an alley and into the intersection of Admiral and Sheridan. Sergeant Brett Bilyeu says this is one of those rare moments when the victim was shot after doing exactly what the robber wanted.
"It's just one of those unfortunate circumstances that it's always a dangerous place when you're confronted with someone with a gun and desperate people do desperate things and unfortunately, this took place," said Sgt. Bilyeu
Officers say the victim was alert and talking and they believe he is going to be ok.
