Highway 18 is back open after downed power lines had the north and southbound lanes closed. The storm also took out power at the Fairfax hospital and the nursing home, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the electricity in those two buildings is back on.

Troopers said no one died in the storm but there were several minor injuries reported.

The community has come together to help clear debris. The focus is getting the town get back on its feet.

"Seconds. The first power flash and the town was black. The whole town," said Fairfax volunteer fireman Travis Shields. "The good thing about Fairfax is it's a community that stands behind each other. They will all spring into action and help each other out.

Fairfax resident Jimmy Wilson said, "It's just devastating. The businesses are just destroyed, everything is just trashed. Power is down everywhere all over town. It's just awful."
